Division of Air and Waste Management

Several sections within the Divisions of Air Quality and WHS oversee the cleanup of contaminated properties:

• Tank Management Section (TMS) oversees the cleanup of leaks from underground and above ground storage tanks. 
• Solid and Hazardous Waste Management Section (SHWMS) oversees cleanup from sites that have treated, stored or disposed of hazardous waste onsite, called RCRA Corrective Action sites. 
• Site Investigation and Restoration Section (SIRS) oversees cleanup of sites that were contaminated as a result of past use, from dry cleaners to chemical companies. 
• Air Quality Management Section oversees the removal of asbestos.
