Landfills, Collection Stations and Transfer Stations

Trash tipping at the Central Solid Waste Management Center in Sandtown, Kent CountyWhile the Solid and Hazardous Waste Management Branch permits and inspects landfills and transfer stations, it does not run them. Most of the municipal solid waste landfills and collection and transfer stations are owned and operated by the Delaware Solid Waste Authority (DSWA). The DRPI landfill in New Castle is for construction and demolition debris is owned and operated by Waste Management, Inc.
