Proposed State of Delaware Regulations Governing Underground Injection Control

DNREC's Division of Water Resources' Ground Water Discharges Section (GWDS) is preparing to propose new State of Delaware Regulations Governing Underground Injection Control (UIC Regulations).Underground injection wells - Class V by EPA classifications. Image courtesy of EPA

DNREC will propose significant revisions to the regulations, which have not been amended or revised since the promulgation of the UIC Regulations in 1983.

Technological advances and new federal requirements from the U.S. Environmental Protection Agency must be incorporated into the Delaware UIC Regulations. DNREC's Secretary approved the Start Action Notice (SAN) process (link below) earlier.

If you would like to be part of an advisory committee or would like to be placed on a notification list for activities related to these Regulations, please contact Kathy Wright at (302) 739-9337 or via e-mail at: Kathy.Wright@state.de.us
