Groundwater Discharges Section
Proposed State of Delaware Regulations Governing Underground Injection Control
DNREC's Division of Water's Groundwater Discharges Section (GWDS) is proposing new State of Delaware Regulations Governing Underground Injection Control (UIC Regulations).
DNREC will propose significant revisions to the regulations, which have not been amended or revised since the promulgation of the UIC Regulations in 1983.
Technological advances and new federal requirements from the U.S. Environmental Protection Agency must be incorporated into the Delaware UIC Regulations. DNREC's Secretary approved the Start Action Notice (SAN) process (link below) in 2012.
If you would like to be placed on a notification list for activities related to the UIC Regulations, please contact Kathy Potter via e-mail at Katharyn.Potter@state.de.us or at (302) 739-9337.
A Public Hearing for Delaware's UIC regulations was held May 25, 2017. The public comment period ended June 9, 2017.
